Approach & theory of organizational communication

After reading chapter’s 2 and 3 of Brewer and Westerman (2018), watch the TedTalk, Lead like the Great Conductors, by Itay Talgam (link below).  Based on your understanding of classical and humanistic approaches to organizational communication, choose one conductor reviewed in Talgam’s talk and critically analyze their approach to conducting an orchestra.  Relate your analysis to one theory/approach discussed in the chapters in order to demonstrate your understanding of the content and your ability to apply it to practical situations.

As you watch the TedTalk, keep the following question in mind: How does a conductor and orchestra correlate to an organization?  By doing so, you will be able to identify specific approaches and theory to organizational communication.

Week 6 discussion forum pathophysiology

Please refer to Chapter 28 and then answer all of the questions that follow the case study:

J. S. is 23 years old. He was brought to the emergency department after an auto accident. He suffered a concussion and a deep laceration of his right thigh. He lost about 4 units of blood prior to effective control of bleeding and closure of the wound. Fluid resuscitation is initiated, and a urinary catheter is inserted post operation to monitor his urine output. However, he continues to have significant oozing from his sutured wound.

His 24-hour urine volume is 350 ml with a high urine osmolality and low urine sodium. A coagulation screen results indicate the following: platelet count 250,000, bleeding time and a PTT time are both extended.

  1. What type of renal failure is J. S. developing? Why is this type of renal failure developing?
  2. If J. S. does not receive adequate treatment, what further condition may he develop? Why? What is the best treatment option to prevent this from occurring?
  3. What other laboratory data beside urine output should be collected to evaluate J. S.’s renal function?
  4. If J. S.’s renal function continues to be diminished without any improvement, what could be the subsequent stages of his renal disorder?

Cite specific areas from your readings and research to support your ideas.
I will provide the pages of the chapter 28 for this assignment.

General psychology | Applied Sciences homework help

Throughout this unit, you have learned about various research methods that are used by psychologists. For this assignment, you must choose three of the six scenarios listed below.

  1. Elena is a psychologist interested in understanding the impact of a sense of control on stress in humans. She brings in students from around campus and gives them a number of choices (increasing sense of control) before exposing them to a very difficult math test. She brings in another group of students and does not give them any choices before giving them the math test. She uses the scores earned by the two groups to see if those students given choices before the test do better than the students who did not get choices.
  2. Maxim is working with Joaquin in a counseling situation. Joaquin is a resident of the local jail, having been found stealing pastries from a bake shop. When caught, Joaquin claimed that the devil told him to do it and that he had done far worse things in the past. Maxim visits with him and makes notes about what he learns about Joaquin each time they are together.
  3. Glynnis is interested in understanding how people handle confrontation. She hangs out in a store near the customer service counter unobtrusively watching the agents at the desk. She records if they respond with passive aggressiveness, kindness, or anger.
  4. Gigi is a student in the marketing department. She wants to understand more about what attracts people to certain products. She creates a document with pictures of cereal boxes and asks people to rate which box they would be most attracted to when searching for a cereal. She then gathers information about their age, income, profession, and gender.
  5. Breck is interested in studying personal space and relationships. He gathers a number of students who are strangers, acquaintances, close friends, or in romantic relationships. He brings them into a classroom and asks them to begin a conversation with each other. He records the distance between the individuals having the conversation.
  6. Lucretia works at a children’s hospital. Her responsibility is to ask children who are coming to the hospital for the first time to respond to a number of questionnaires that may help determine their anxiety, depression, and pain levels.

After choosing three of the above scenarios, answer the following questions for each of your three scenarios.

  • Which research method was used (case history, survey, naturalistic observation, psychological tests, laboratory observation, or experiment)?
  • Identify the information in the scenario that supports your reasoning.
  • What ethical guidelines would need to be followed to conduct this study?
  • Which basic ideas behind early approaches in psychology most closely align with this method?

Your responses to the questions above for the three scenarios must result in a combined total of at least two pages in length for the assignment, not including the title page.

If outside sources are used, please adhere to APA Style when creating citations and references for this assignment. APA formatting, however, is not necessary.

Computer networking 10 page research paper – apa style

**NEED PROBLEM 2 ANSWERED ONLY*** I included problem 1 because it has some of the instructions for problem 2.

I need a 10 page, 12-point font, APA format paper. The description and question is listed below. Please pay special attention to the description and Project Grading portion of the instructions. Once again this is only for PROBLEM 2. I will need atleast 4 referances, which can include the reading material i will be providing.

I will be attaching 3 word documents that have all of the reading material for this class in them. I also included the citation for each of the readings at the begining of the paper.

**I WILL INCLUDE A GENEROUS TIP, UP TO TWICE THE AMOUNT PAID FOR THE PAPER IS IT IS WELL WRITTEN AND WITHIN THE PARAMETERS I SPECIFIED** I amy even tip bigger if it is outstanding and I find no signs of plagerism after i run it through a plagerism checker.

Description

The project will consist of a 10-page project paper. The 10 pages include only the text, with everything else extra. You are expected to run a spell checker against the paper. More than 12 pages is not expected. As a matter of fact, it will not help you to include more.

Supporting diagrams or pictures are welcome, but they do not need to be fancy.

The project will be a subset of a network design that still requires you to think about media, hardware, and protocols for either home use or to support a small office.

You will write the paper from the point of view of a network designer, and you will try to solve one of these two problems.

Problem 1

I am sitting in front of my Intel PC, which is running a Windows 7 (or later) operating system, and I am using my Internet Explorer Web browser to access an ISP of your choice. I am doing this at 56 kbs modem speeds, but I want to join the broadband revolution.

You will hook my PC up to some broadband access method. You will describe the overall design; describe specific vendor hardware that makes up the design; describe the transmission media; and describe the protocols within the design (note that this includes TCP/IP and HTTP).

The three approved solutions for this problem are cable TV, DSL, or wireless. For DSL, you should describe the solution from my PC to the DSLAM or the first ATM switch. For cable or wireless, you will have to include an overview of their networks.

Problem 2

I want to set up an Ethernet LAN for my small office of 10 people. The parameters are similar to those of Problem 1, except you will be connecting to a LAN.

For either problem, your design should include the link from my PC or office workstation to the Internet Service Point (ISP) access point within the vendor’s network.

You will have to research one of these solutions and then write your paper. For the DSL solution, you should go to one of the DSLAM vendors, such as Lucent; select a DSLAM; and then describe it.

For the cable, wireless, or LAN solutions, you will have to describe how the network components work in general. You will need to include descriptions on the home or office components, as well as an overview of their networks.

Project Grading

The project paper will be graded on the following elements:

·          introduction (10%)

·         overall design or high-level description (20%)

hardware (10%)

transmission media (10%)

protocol description (10%)

·         lessons learned (10%)

·         grammar/syntax and length (20%)

·         references (10%)

Submitted papers that show evidence of plagiarism will be given a score of zero.

There should be no spelling or grammatical mistakes; the construction should be logical and easy to read. A reference list should be provided at the end of the paper. A minimum of two outside references should be used.

High and low context communication

Research high and low context communication. High and low context communication is a style of communication that caters to people in groups that have similar experiences and expectations.

Many things are left unsaid in this style of communication and the context of the message is filled in by the person’s understanding of the culture.

It is reasonable to assume that most police officers use this style of communication within their communities.

Determine how this could be a problem in communication between a police officer and a person who speaks English as a second language and in a 2-3 page paper in APA formatting describe how police officers can be trained to deal with this situation. Assignment checked for plagiarism through SafeAssign.

Medtabolic acidosis | Nursing homework help

Mr. B. has experienced a myocardial infarction (MI), and this has impacted his body’s acid-base balance. At present, Mr. B. is in metabolic acidosis. This is evidenced by a low pH, an HCO3 level which is normal, but on the low side, and a low PCO2 level. The low PCO2 level indicates the body is trying to normalize the metabolic pH disturbance by eliminating the volatile acid, CO2 (Heuther, 2020).

The cause of this acidosis is an overproduction of lactic acid by cells in the body. Cells may overproduce lactic acid because of the poor perfusion and cellular hypoxia caused by the heart being unable to pump blood (and, therefore, oxygen) efficiently throughout the body during cardiac arrest (Chiara et al., 2020). In the absence of oxygen, cells must use fermentation to produce energy, and lactic acid is a by-product of this inefficient process. It is important to recognize this effect on pH when treating a patient after cardiac arrest, since the severity of this imbalance has been correlated with worse outcomes after ICU admission (Jamme et al., 2018). One factor Jamme and colleagues (2018) cited in these outcomes is the risk of multi-organ failure, as tissues are injured by reperfusion once resuscitation is achieved.
